6 Ways For a Flawless Transition Period to your Natural Hair Texture

Change is never easy, and transitioning to natural hair after getting used to heat and chemicals is a pretty major switch to make! It requires consistency, patience and natural hair care products to use during this phase. If the natural hair trend has made you want to embrace your naturally curly or wavy texture, here’s tips to help you grow out your chemically treated hair with care:

  1. Be patient: It will take, at least, three to four months to start to see real change. Being completely chemical-free is not easy, it all depends on how long your hair takes to grow and how well you treat and protect it during the transition phase.

  2. Narrow Down Your Expectations: Try not to set a time frame for when you want to rock a certain curly hairstyle. You’ll get there, it just may not be within the window that you designate.

  3. Cut!: For the health of your hair, some cutting is necessary. It doesn’t mean a buzz cut, but gradually trimming the ends of your hair  every six to eight weeks will not only help speed up the process, but it will also keep your fragile strands from breaking as they transition from being straightened by chemicals.

  4. Deep condition often: Hair that is transitioning is very fragile. Protect your hair from drying out by switching to weekly deep conditioning sessions using Bazix Healthy Care Routine.

  5. Use Protein Only as Needed: Protein helps to strengthen the hair, but it shouldn’t be used too often because, while it strengthens, it doesn’t add moisture. Too much protein can lead to dry hair. It may sound difficult to figure out the right moisture-protein balance to maintain healthy locks, but as long as you provide plenty of moisture, a small amount of occasional protein should keep a lot of breakage at bay. 6. Supplement your Shampoo Routine with Co-washing: Use a conditioner to hydrate and cleanse hair in place of shampoo. Using this method provides moisture outside of your go-to leave-in conditioner. Reserve use of a sudsy shampoo for about once every two weeks to help remove any product build-up from hair.
